Conversation
Galerie Pelin, Helsinki 1986

For Andersson's first solo exhibition in Helsinki, he made a new collaborative project with Kari Juutilainen. During six days and nights the artists worked together in Andersson's studio in Turku, smashing, reassembling and painting old wooden dressing room lockers, found in the old factory where Andersson’s studio is situated, to make an installation called Conversation. The idea was to merge two creative minds into a strongly physical process, so that you couldn’t tell who had done what. The artists worked on the same piece at the same time. The concept was the same as in the earlier collaboration Four Sunsets in Joes gallery, Turku. The installation filled the gallery’s main space together with Reino Koivulas photographs of the process. In the smaller rooms Andersson showed paintings and sculptures.
